Gardening Buddies is Looking for Volunteers

Added 3 June
Valid until 31 July

Gardening Buddies is a new Volunteer Gardening Service for people in the local area, and they're looking for volunteers. The aim is to create a team of local volunteers to support people living at home, who love their gardens, but are no longer able to manage the upkeep themselves. They're looking for keen gardeners who have their own gardening tools, and their own transport. Typical gardening tasks may include grass cutting, tidying borders, and pruning shrubs and low hedges. The work will be light and safe, with nothing too strenuous. Just as important, volunteers will provide a friendly face and companionship, to help brighten someone’s day. Also needed, is a small group of administration volunteers to help with managing and co-ordinating volunteers, allocating gardening requests, carrying out basic risk assessments, supporting the smooth running of the service and assisting with finances, safeguarding, and volunteer training. Whether you can spare a few hours a week, or would like to be more involved, any help would be greatly appreciated. If you are interested in helping, please get in touch with Keith, at gardeningbuddies@yahoo.com.
