The Big Banner Group Needs Assistance

The Devizes Big Banner Group needs assistance on the evening of Tuesday the 3rd of November. If you have an hour or so to spare from 5pm that evening, they'd really appreciate a little help getting the banner ready for its exhibition over in Avebury. In Devizes Town Hall, they'll be attaching panels to batons, and adding picture hanging hooks to the thirty-two batons. If a few people could share the burden, they could get the job done really quickly. A few hammers and drills could make the job a lot easier, so please go along, and take your toolbox.

Fantasy Now Available on DAB Radio

Fantasy Radio is now available on DAB Digital Radio across West Wiltshire. Don't worry, the FM signal's not going anywhere, but you can now take us with you on your travels across an even bigger chunk of the county. Just rescan your DAB+ radio, find us in the station list, and be sure to save us as a preset. Fantasy Radio is All About Devizes, on 97FM, online, via the Radioplayer app, and now on DAB Digital Radio across West Wiltshire. Please note that your radio must be to the new, DAB+ standard.

October Boat Trips on The Kennet and Avon Canal

Boat trips are taking place on The Kennet and Avon Canal during October, on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, all departing from The Wharf. Booking in advance is recommended through katrust.org.uk. The Wednesday trips are a three lock experience to The Black Horse and return, with the Saturday and Sunday trips to Devizes Marina and return. Relax and watch the world go by, while enjoying drinks and snacks from the licensed galley. Pushchairs and buggies can be stored in the boat shed while you're on the trip. Prices range from £6 for children to £11 for adults, with family tickets available.

The Raven Inn Poulshot is Calling All Crafters

On Saturday the 21st of November, there's a Craft Stall Fayre Day, between 10.30am and 3pm, at The Raven Inn, Poulshot. They're calling all crafters, to showcase unique handmade creations and help make Christmas extra special. Sell your handmade gifts for Christmas, at a cost of just £10 per table. Set up is at 9am on the day. Please contact The Raven to book your space.

The First Devizes Scouts Need Stall Holders

A Christmas Fete is taking place between 1 o'clock and 5 o'clock, on the afternoon of Saturday the 21st of November, at The First Devizes Scout Hall in Southbroom Road. They're looking for stall holders for the event, at just £10 per space. It'll be an ideal opportunity to sell your gifts, crafts, treats, or other goodies, in the run up to Christmas. Julia's House is Looking for Crafts People in Bromham

At The Bromham Community Hub, in New Road, there's a Christmas Artisan Market, for Julia's House, between 10am and 2pm on Sunday the 22nd of November. The Friends of Bratton School Need Stall Holders

From 5pm to 8pm on Thursday the 26th of November, The Arts and Crafts Festive Night takes place in Bratton Jubilee Hall. It's presented by The Friends of Bratton School. They're looking for independent stall holders to join in on the evening. Tables cost £10 or £25, and they're also looking for raffle prize donations. Major Electricity Cable Works in Devizes Town Centre

Major electricity cable works are planned, in Devizes town centre, during the period from Monday the 12th of October until Saturday the 21st of November, and then again from a date, to be confirmed, in January. The works will affect The Brittox, The Little Brittox, Wine Street, Long Street, Morris Lane, and The Shambles. The businesses in the area wish to stress that there will be no complete road closures, and definitely no business closures, during the work. The town's fantastic businesses will continue to serve you during the work, and look forward to your business in the important run up to Christmas. Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, which is carrying out the work, says the work is essential, to replace old electricity cables whose condition has contributed to an increased number of power failures in the area.

Potterne Village Christmas Market Needs Stall Holders

Major Road Closure on A361 in Seend

A major road closure is taking place on the A361 in Seend, from Monday the 5th of October, for eight weeks, until Friday the 27th of November. This is to enable Wessex Water to replace water mains. The A361, High Street and Seend Hill, and the top of Inmarsh Lane will be closed from the junction with Spout Lane to outside Hill Farm House. A diversion for through traffic will be via Melksham, with the Inmarsh Lane diversion via the remainder of Inmarsh Lane and Bell Hill.

Entries Invited for Easterton Christmas Tree Festival

A Christmas Tree Festival is taking place at St Barnabas Church in Easterton, between 10am and 4pm each day, on Saturday the 5th and Sunday the 6th of December. Christmas Craft Fair Needs Stall Holders

They're looking for stall holders for a variety of handmade crafts and gifts, at £10 for a pitch of approximately six foot. The Kenavon Venture is Looking for Volunteers

The Kenavon Venture, The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust trip boat, is looking for people to join their Devizes volunteers, working from The Wharf. They run weekly public trips on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays through the summer months, plus a variety of themed trips, as well as private charters. The friendly crew help on the boat in a variety of roles, and you'd be fully trained in them all. Why not get on board, give it a try, and see if you like it? Wharf Theatre Now a National Theatre Live Screening Centre

The Wharf Theatre in Devizes is thrilled to announce a major new chapter in its artistic programme. The theatre has officially become a registered screening centre for National Theatre Live, bringing world class theatre from the West End directly to the town. From November, audiences will be able to enjoy up to twelve National Theatre Live productions every year, screened in high definition, and presented with the same care, atmosphere, and community spirit, that defines the Wharf Theatre’s live performance season. Audiences can expect a diverse, year round slate of productions, from gripping dramas and reimagined classics, to bold new writing, each captured live from the West End and delivered straight to Devizes.

Volunteers Needed at Market Lavington Library

Market Lavington Library is looking for volunteers to help cover their opening hours. The hours, from November 2026, are Wednesdays from 1pm to 5pm, and Fridays from 10am to 5pm. Road Closures for The Bromham Pudding Run

The Bromham Pudding Run is taking place on Sunday the 6th of December. For the safety of the runners and marshals, the following roads will be closed between 10.45am and 12.30pm on the day. New Road, Bromham, the whole length, from St Nicholas Church to the Hawkstreet junction. The A342, Devizes Road, between the junction with Hawkstreet and Highfield, opposite Bromham House Farm.

Stall Holders Wanted by The Cavalier

A Christmas Fayre Market is taking place, between 3pm and 9pm, on Saturday the 19th of December, at The Cavalier, in Eastleigh Road. Spaces are available for stall holders to sell handmade jewellery, cakes and bakes, candles and home fragrances, personalised gifts, Christmas decorations, beauty and skincare products, handmade cards, crafts, children's gifts and toys, and Christmas gifts. The cost is £20 a table, and you should contact The Cavalier to book your space. It's local stalls to support small businesses.

Devizes Young Farmers Need Stall Holders

The Devizes Young Farmers' Club present their Market, here in The Market Place, on Sunday the 20th of December. The Market is helping to support local businesses in the run up to Christmas.
