Regular Events

Tuesdays Men's Shed

Men's Shed runs every Tuesday from 10 'til 1. It's open to men and women at Needham House in Victoria Road, Devizes, and it's a chance for you to work on community projects, or one of your own.

Wednesdays Devizes Children’s Choir

On Wednesdays from 4.30 to 5.30pm the Devizes Children’s Choir takes place at the Baptist Church Hall Sheep Street. This is a children’s community choir for children from Year 1 upwards. They have been running for just under a year and their aim is to sing for fun and to go out and about in the community. The team sings at local events in the community, and at places like care homes. There are currently 24 children but would like to increase their numbers into their second year. For more information or to get involved call Heather Flower on 01380 722013.

Thursdays Salsa

The Devizes Salsa Classes on a Thursday Night have moved! They are now at Needham House in Victoria Road, so pop along for the best Salsa fun in town, 7.30pm on Thursday evenings.

Saturdays Slimming World

Every Saturday at 9am and 11am, pop along to Slimming World at the Nursteed Centre. Lose weight and feel great. Join the gang and make new friends whilst receiving some great support to help you lose weight.

Every Saturday Karaoke Disco Party

Come along to The Pelican Inn's Karaoke Disco Party, every Saturday from 8pm to 1am. Entry is free, and all ages are sure to enjoy!

First Saturday Each Month Wiltshire Farmers Market

On the first Saturday of the month it's the Wiltshire Farmers Market. It takes place in the Market Square, Devizes from 9am 'til 1pm with local artisan food, crafts and top quality goods available to purchase directly from the producers.

15-23 Feb Love Is In The Air

A message from The Canal and River Trust: Come and join us for some free heart-felt fun aboard the Canal and River Trust's floating visitor Centre The Admiral, moored below the Caen Hill Cafe at Lock 44.

Open every day during the February school holiday from Saturday the 15th to Sunday the 23rd of February from 10.30am to 3pm. Go on a Bird Quest, make a bird-feeder, test your skills at identifying birds, watch for signs of the swans, ducks and birds looking for their mate, and find out more about your local canal.

Tue 18 Feb Puzzles & Pancakes

It's Puzzles & Pancakes at St Andrew's Church Hall, in Long Street on Tuesday the 18th of February.

A fun evening with a chance to mix with other members and pool knowledge (perhaps!). A sub of £2.50 is payable - there is no annual membership fee, so ladies can just come along to any of the meetings which are held on the 1st & 3rd Tuesdays of the month at the church.

Sat 22 Feb Back to the 80s

DJ Mark Anthony will bring you tunes from the 80s at The Devizes Conservative Club on Saturday the 22nd of February. Optional fancy dress, but prizes for the best fancy dress. Tickets are £6 available from the club, Vinyl Realm or by messaging the Devizes Scooter Club page on Facebook.

Sat 22 Feb Frozen Ball

The Frozen Ball is a fundraiser for 5yr old Carmela, in her stand up to Muscular Dystrophy and her fight to stay mobile. It's Saturday the 22nd of  February 2020 - 1pm -4pm

The Frozen Ball consists of a story time and photo-shoot with Elsa & Anna, followed by music and games from Britain's Got Talent finalist Pippa Langhorne performing as Frozen's Anna, all finished off with a disco.

Sweet cones and Frozen bows will be available to purchase.

Tue 25 Feb Vinyl Listening Sessions

At the Devizes Literary and Scientific Institute, 53 Northgate Street, Vinyl Realm presents the Vinyl Listening Sessions.

There will be a raffle with tickets £1 a strip, a music quiz with a prize, a rare and collectable album will be auctioned off, and there a selection of records will be available to buy. And of course, a selection of tracks from featured albums will be played...from vinyl!

No need to be a member, these events are free for all. Pop in to Vinyl Realm for more information, and come along to the next session on: Tue 25 Feb from 7.30pm

Fri 28 Feb Tom Strickland Book Launch

On Friday the 28th of February at Devizes Books, there will be a book launch and illustrated talk by local author Tom Strickland. It kicks off at 7.30pm. Tickets available in advance from Devizes books at £4 to include Wine and Nibbles.

Tom Strickland is a local author and Head of Faculty at Devizes School. He has been taking groups of adults and students to the WW1 battlefields for over 20 years and is passionate about history.

His new book “Following in the Footsteps of Heroes: A WW1 Guidebook to Ypres and the Somme” not only tells the history but puts the conflict into context with lots of personal stories.

28-29 Feb DOCA Festival of Winter Ales

Back again for 2020, it's the DOCS Festival of Winter Ales at The Corn Exchange. There are three sessions, Friday Evening, Saturday Afternoon and Saturday Evening. Come along for a weekend of Ale drinking and fundraising! Musicians will be taking to the stage over the weekend, including Vince Bell, Splat The Rat, It's Complicated and Kris Dollimore. Enjoy great music, great food and great beer. Search DOCA Devizes online for more information.

Sat 29 Feb Casino Royale Charity Evening

At the Devizes Town Hall on Saturday the 29th of February there's a Casino Royale Charity Evening, in aid of Just4Children Therapy Fund.

2 live bands (Its Complicated & Daydream Runaways), a buffet, 2 casino tables with chips provided. Cash bar available.

Sat 29 Feb Coffee Morning

The Devizes Bowls Club are holding a coffee morning to raise funds for their charity of the year, the local Devizes MS Support Group. Pop along for coffee and cake! There will also be a raffle, and it kicks off at 10am 'til 1pm.

Fri 6 Mar Women's World Day of Prayer

Originally known as the Women's World Day of Prayer, this worldwide, ecumenical service is written this year by the Christian women in Zimbabwe with the theme, 'Rise! Take up your mat and walk.'  The service calls us to prayer and speaks from experiences of life in their country. St Andrew's Church invites men and women to join them for this service at 10.30am on Friday the 6th of March

20-28 Mar Jesus Christ Superstar

Jesus Christ Superstar comes to The Wharf Theatre, 20th to the 28th of March. The show traces the last seven days of the life of Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas Iscariot. Judas fears that the compassionate movement with Jesus at its head has become a personality cult with many of Jesus' statements being taken up and twisted by his followers. Jesus must be stopped.

Sat 21 Mar Spring Coffee Morning

St Andrew's Church in Long Street are holding their Spring Coffee Morning on Saturday the 21st of March from 10am. There will be a cakes and preserves stall, a tombola with your chance to win an Easter Egg), and other refreshments. It's all for a good cause, as they're raising money for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Fri 27 Mar An Evening with Jac

'Jac' are a singer/accordion player duo, singing and playing traditional Paris café music, and they're coming to Devizes on Friday the 27th of March. The evening is being promoted as a fund-raiser in anticipation of Devizes' Town Twinning Association, entertaining its twin towns of Waiblingen and Mayenne on 20/21 June.

Tickets are £10 and there will be bar available serving wines, spirit and beers! Tickets from Devizes Books.

9-10 May VE & VJ Day

At Worton Village Hall, Church Lane in Worton there's a chance to celebrate peace in Europe and the World, with an exhibition of family stories, photographs and war time artefacts for all to view. 9th & 10th May from 11am - 4pm. For more information, call Chris Johnson on 720 580
