Sat 10 Jun Queen B

Paul Jackson fronts the worlds leading Queen tribute, Queen B. They've appeared on The One Show, and Paul will be playing to a 50,000 sell out crowd the week before he plays in Market Lavington on Saturday the 10th of June.

Sat 1 Jul Summer Sounds Festival

Market Lavington Music & Comedy Club presents its first ever festival in a day - eight live bands in a day!

Enjoy music from The Cleverly Brothers, People Like Us, a Robbie Williams Tribute, RSI, The Funk Bunnies, The Ukey D'Ukes, The Worried Men and an Elvis Presley Tribute.

Also, a beer and cider festival, food stalls, wine tasting, guest of honour the paralympic swimmer Stephannie Millward MBE, who was educated just down the road in Corsham, plus much more.

Live music on Saturday the 1st of July from 2 'til 12pm.

Fri 24 Mar Devizes School Spring Concert

On the 24th of March, Devizes School will be hosting their annual and eagerly-awaited Spring Concert.

Held in the Main hall, this event will feature talented performers with enjoyable performances from many different genres of music.

It's just £4 for concessions, £5 for adults.

Sat 25 Mar Carnival Royalty Event

It's that time of year again to choose the Royalty for Melksham Carnival.

The Melksham Carnival Royalty Competition takes place on Saturday the 25th of March at the Melksham Town Hall. Registration is from Registration 6 'til 7pm. Queens must be 18 plus, princesses are aged 7 to 17. There will also be a disco with refreshments, so pop along if you'd like to enter or support the event.

Thu 30 Mar Singing for LIFE

On Thursday 30th March a night of live music with Giovanni Campanella (a.k.a. ‘The Jazz Baker’) and Maestro Vincenzo Bua will be held at Dolcipani Italian Bakery and Coffee Shop in Devizes. It's all to raise money for life-saving equipment at the new Radiotherapy Centre which is being built at Swindon’s Great Western Hospital. For more information just call Dolcipani on 01380 501220.

Fri 31 Mar WHO Spring Concert

The White Horse Opera's Spring Concert takes place on Friday the 31st of March from 7.30pm. It's in memory of Devizes music teacher and tennis lover Michael Oliver who passed away back in December. A donation will be made from the proceeds of the concert to a charity close to Michael's heart.

There will be a preview of the White Horse Opera's October production, Iolanthe by Gilbert & Sullivan as well as lots of other beautiful music.

Thu 6 Apr Moonrakers Comedy Night

The Moonrakers Comedy Club is back at the Bear Hotel Cellar Bar for April on Thursday the 6th.

Your M/C for the evening is Tony Cowards, a rapid-fire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners. For laughs-per-minute he's a tough act to beat!

Lanky Scot Leo Kearse is part of the new wave of raw, bold, American-inspired comedians taking the big UK clubs by storm. Opening the show, Leo is an award winning live comedian.

Headlining is Ben Norris. He has appeared on a range of different television shows such as Mock The Week and Never Mind The Buzzcocks. He is a regular of the Tuesday Night “Cutting Edge” team who perform at the Comedy Store in London

As ever, there will be special guests too, and tickets are just £10 from the Bear Hotel, Devizes Books, The British Lion, The Vaults, The Southgate Inn and on-line at “We Got Tickets”

Fri 7 Apr David Hempleman-Adams

Wiltshire Museum are delighted to confirm that David Hempleman-Adams, the present High Sheriff of Wiltshire, will be speaking at the Town Hall about some of his life's experiences at 7.30pm on Friday the 7th of April. Tickets are £15 from the museum, £13 for WANHS members.

Sat 8 Apr John Otway

John Otway, complete with a full band, will be delighting punters over in Market Lavington with his unique and brilliant music. It's 40 years since he hit the charts with Really Free, and he has been delighting live crowds ever since.

Local band RSI are offering support, and it all takes place on Saturday the 8th of April at the Market Lavington Community Hall. Tickets are £12 from Market Lavington Post Office, Devizes Books or Ted Osborn on 07399 591101.

Sun 16 Apr Easter Egg Hunt

Come along to Hillworth Park to keep your little chicks entertained on Easter Sunday by entering the park's eggciting, annual egg hunt. Hunt clues around the Park, un-scramble the letters, solve the riddle and win an egg! There will be a small charge to enter this competition, and it runs from 12pm to 3pm on Sunday the 16th of April.

Wed 21 Apr Abundance or Scarcity? Catchments and Carbon

Details of another talk organised by Sustainable Devizes, this one is entitled 'Abundance or Scarcity? Catchments and Carbon'. The speaker, Julian Jones, is a distinguished Fellow at the Schumacher Institute. He volunteers for Water 21, a non profit organisation. He developed sustainable drainage and is the Honorable Water Scientist for Gloucestershire NHS, funding and mentoring postgraduate studies into river catchment management.

The talk takes place on Wednesday the 12th of April from 7.30pm at The Quaker Meeting House, Sussex Wharf, Devizes.

Sun 30 Apr Antiques & Collectables Roadshow

It's time to hunt out your heirlooms and bring them along to Hillworth Park's Antiques & Collectables Roadshow to be
valued by their panel of experts. The team will be asking for a £1 donation for the Mayor’s Appeal charities for this event. It takes place on Sunday the 30th of April from 12 'til to 2pm

Sun 30 Apr Clock Golf

from 2 'til to 4pm, improve your golf skills and have fun when you take part in the Clock Golf competition! This event is being run by the Devizes Development Partnership to raise money towards the town’s CCTV system. There will be a small charge to take part and plenty of prizes to be won!

Sat 29 Apr Devizes School Open House

Devizes School are holding a free Open House event on Saturday the 29th of April.

Visitors will be able to access the listed house rooms and cellars and attic on guided tours usually not open to the public. Old school yearbooks and memorabilia will be available to view and homemade cakes and teas in the pop up tea room.

Antiques Roadshow expert Marc Allum will attend to take tours along with local historian John Girvan.

Donations welcomed for the restoration of the school's Maria Heathcote painting seen last year on the Antiques Roadshow.

Open 10am - 3pm on Saturday the 29th of April.


Mon 1 May Big Breakfast with Granny's Attic

Come along to St Andrew's Church, in Long Street on Bank Holiday Monday for BIG BREAKFAST in the Hall and GRANNY'S ATTIC in the Church - various stalls including accessories; bags; unwanted gifts and good quality bric-a-brac. Just come along! Everyone's welcome from 8am 'til 11.

Mon 1 May Lions Club May Fayre

The Lions Club are holding their annual May Fayre on Monday the 1st of May, with lots going on all day in the Market Place.

Vintage Vehicles, stalls, and come and ride on one of the last Victorian Gallopers in the country. There will be a Craft Fayre in the Corn Exchange. Food and Drink on offer, the Male Majorettes and lots more.

All profits go to support the work of the Lions Club in the community.

Sun 21 May Plant in the Park 

It's Plant In The Park on Sunday the 21st of May at Hillworth Park.

If your children have ever wondered if wiggly worms are slimy or dry then this is the event for them! The Park’s Team will join forces with members of Devizes & Roundway in Bloom to help younger park goers to plant herbs, rootle around in the soil and generally have fun in the garden.

It's a free event running from 10am 'til 2pm.


5-10 Jun Into The Woods

TITCO, The Invitation Theatre Company, presents Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods, directed by Peter Nelson, at the Wharf Theatre from the 5th to the 10th of June. Tickets and more information online at

Fri 30 Jun Country Music Concert

It's the Rowde C of E Primary Academy Country Music Concert on Friday the 30th of June, aiding the school and Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Confirmed bookings of top tribute artist Scott Welsby as Garth Brooks and Kevin Lovatt as Johnny Cash. Tickets are available from the school.
